Editorial policy
Local Food Culture aims to make its accounts of food and place clear, proportionate and honest about what is known. Our editorial choices are guided by relevance to the subject, not by a promise to praise a product, maker or destination.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against suitable sources, distinguish established information from interpretation, and provide enough context to avoid turning a local custom into a claim about everyone in a region. When a claim cannot be supported or its limits are unclear, we narrow it, qualify it or leave it out.
Independence
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. A business, product or destination does not receive favourable coverage in return for payment, access or a proposed partnership. We do not imply that a particular choice is best for every reader.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or a misleading omission, use the Contact page and identify the relevant article and detail. We review credible reports and make corrections or clarifications where warranted, updating the wording so readers can understand what changed.
Partner and sponsored material
Paid placements, sponsored material and other partner contributions are clearly identified where they appear. Their presence does not constitute an editorial endorsement, and commercial partners cannot determine independent editorial coverage.
Place changes the meaning of food
A local dish is more than an ingredient list. Its meaning comes from where its ingredients come from, who makes it and how people choose to share it.
